Letters and Poems

Hybrid in form, the Letters and Poems project is a moving way to encounter the archives & diversify memory and performance. Consisting of read-alouds and performances of great letters and poems by the Georgetown community including students, faculty, and staff, as curated by Prof. Maya E. Roth, this project responds to community interests, speaking to our souls as well as reflecting on history. Letters and Poems creates a virtual community for Georgetown across this 2020-2021 year. The events are part of the Georgetown University Theater & Performance Studies Program’s 15th anniversary season, “Seeds of Change: Reimagining the World,” programmed by Roth, the Davis Performing Arts Center’s Artistic Director.

You can nominate content for inclusion, to be performed by you or someone else, and view past performances, including the Oct. 16-17 episode 1, and the Nov. 19 episode 2 alumni share. The next performance will be on March 6, 2021, at 8 p.m. Visit the Letters and Poems project website for more information.
