MASK & BAUBLE DRAMATIC SOCIETY

All My Sons

Written by Arthur Miller
Directed by Zoe Novak (COL ‘17)
Produced by Elly Straske (COL’16)

Arthur Miller’s All My Sons examines postwar America through the experiences of the prominent Keller family. The Kellers’ relationship with their neighbors, the Deevers, becomes more and more tested as facts from the war come into the foreground. Miller deftly explores the past of each family to unveil their present conflicts; the drama grapples with themes of postwar identity, parenthood, loss, guilt, and the American Dream. All My Sons established Miller as a dominant voice in American theatre, bringing his captivating, resonant, and electric prose to life.

Donn B. Murphy One-Acts Festival
featuring Beyond

Written by Connor Ross (COL ‘16)
Directed by Marnie Klein (NHS ‘17)
Produced by Emily Grau (COL ’16)

The Donn B. Murphy One-Acts Festival is named in honor of one of Mask and Bauble’s greatest leaders, who helped shape student theater at Georgetown University. DBMOAF showcases student-written works, allowing student writers, directors, actors, and designers the opportunity to create and develop a new show — this year featuring Beyond. When Robert, the family patriarch suddenly dies, siblings Alan and Erin return to their suburban hometown to honor him at his funeral. Yet Robert lives on within the minds of the family — haunting his wife Adelaide, and causing Alan and Erin to relive their past and confront their futures. Beyond hits home: reminding us how families respond in the wake of death, and what emerges to fill the void.
