Georgetown University Dance Company, GU’s oldest dance organization and pre-professional repertory dance ensemble presents their Fall 2019 Works In Progress Concert. A prelude to the Spring Season, this Works in Progress will feature works by professional and student choreographers, including ballet, modern, and contemporary works.

Winter Showcase
BFMG’s winter showcase is intended to reflect a Mexican posada—a nine-day festive anticipation of Christmas in Mexican culture. We will begin by caroling in front of Dahlgren. The caroling represents Mary and Joseph’s search for shelter in Bethlehem. Guests will be lead to a few locations on campus to recreate Mary and Joseph’s journey. Finally, all carolers will end at Gaston. There, you will experience a plethora of traditional dances from four Mexican states that embody the diversity of this wonderful country. Join us after the show for a reception filled with delicious and authentic foods.

One Move, One Groove is an annual hip-hop showcase hosted by Georgetown University’s co-ed hip-hop team, Groove Theory. The showcase will feature exciting performances from Georgetown groups and hip-hop teams and crews from around the DMV area. In small towns, populous modern cities, and even famous archaeological sites such as Chichen Itza, locals and visitors alike gather together to celebrate this season of renewal with colorful parades and traditional food, music, and dance. As a group that strives to preserve and share these traditions, BFMG asks all members of the diverse and exciting DC community to join in the celebration!
