Celebrate the end of a fantastic fall 2015 semester with us at this combined concert by the Chamber Singers and Concert Choir. Professor Frederick Binkholder says, “With great joy I gave this concert the title ‘Tomorrowshall be my Dancing Day,’ because I also knew it was on the last day of classes…” 

The program culminates with John Gardner’s titular carol, an upbeat mixed meter work which Prof. Binkholder notes captures the joy of the season. In the song, Christ uses his own voice to speak of his incarnation as his dancing day; this vivid imagery of Christ dancing is also used in the Easter hymn ”Lord of the Dance,” set to the familiar American Shaker tune “Simple Gifts.” The evening also includes works by Handel, Poulenc, and an audience carol sing-along.
