James June Schneider is a filmmaker, video performer, teacher, researcher and curator. He has directed 5 feature-length films and short to medium-length films. As performer, Schneider has been conducting live video events with sound and image (aka "live cinema") both solo as well as with collaborators since 2002, lecturing at various universities and film festivals on the subject. Schneider earned a Bachelor of the Arts from the Rhode Island School of Design and from Paris VIII, a master's degree in aesthetics (advisor: Jacques Rancière) and a D.E.A. (Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies) in philosophy (advisor: René Schérer).
