Music for Cuba Exchange

Twelve Georgetown University Orchestra students and two faculty members participated in the first part of this exchange March 5-12 in Cuba, including daily rehearsals, sectionals and workshops with the Lyceum Mozartiano de La Habana teachers, and the second part of the exchange for the Lyceum musicians' trip to Georgetown University from April 16-24 features a culminating free joint concert on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 8 p.m. in GU's Gaston Hall here in Washington, D.C.

The program will include Beethoven's Symphony No. 4 guest conducted by José Antonio Méndez Padrón, music director of Lyceum Mozartiano; and Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms conducted by Prof. Angel Gil-Ordóñez with the participation of GU's Concert Choir (Prof. Frederick Binkholder, music director).
