Georgetown University Dance Company (GUDC)
Dance Troupe

New South Marley Dance Studio
September 8, 2009 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

No individual solos or choreography are necessary to show; however, please bring a headshot and resume and dress in appropriate ballet attire - hair pulled back, no jewelry, and ballet slippers. Auditions for membership will be conducted prior to the first day of each fall's company class and rehearsal, this year on Tuesday, September 8 at 6:30 p.m. The audition is at an intermediate-advanced level and consists of a ballet barre, center work, movement across the floor as well as contemporary and/or jazz combinations. The process is rigorous and competitive. Normally GUDC has approximately 45 students auditioning every year for 4-8 available positions. Selected members are announced within 24 hours and results are posted on their dormitory doors as well as being contacted via e-mail. GUDC normally does not have auditions in the spring semester as most slots are filled by September. All returning GUDC members are required to take auditions in order to register or participate in GUDC. The only exceptions are selected officers by Faculty Artistic Director, to help evaluate and observe auditions.
