Ballet Folklorico Mexicano de Georgetown

Posada

This family-friendly winter showcase is intended to reflect a Mexican posada, a nine-day festive anticipation of Christmas. Beginning with caroling in front of Dahlgren Chapel and then moving into Gaston Hall, the program features traditional dances from four Mexican states, highlighting the diversity of the country. A reception follows with authentic foods, hosted by Hilltop Tacos.

Festivals heralding the arrival of spring have long been a tradition in Mexico. In small towns, populous modern cities, and even famous archaeological sites such as Chichen Itza, locals and visitors alike gather together to celebrate this season of renewal with colorful parades and traditional food, music, and dance. As a group that strives to preserve and share these traditions, BFMG invites all members of the diverse and exciting DC community to join in this family-friendly celebration! Experience a plethora of traditional dances from four Mexican states that embody the diversity of this wonderful country. Join us after the show for a reception filled with delicious and authentic foods, hosted by Hilltop Tacos.

This fun, fierce, and diverse program from Georgetown’s co-ed hip-hop team features exciting performances from GU groups, as well as hip-hop teams and crews from around the metro area.

ONE MOVE, ONE GROOVE is an annual hip-hop showcase hosted by Georgetown University’s co-ed hip-hop team, Groove Theory. Come join us for a night of extreme fun, FIERCE dance moves, and a visual appreciation for the cultural phenomenon shaping today’s pop culture horizon.

Ritmo y Sabor’s 2015 Spring Showcase brings together the forces of spicy modern Latin rhythms. The show will feature pieces from the group’s repertoire prepared for this showcase, as well as collaborative pieces with non-member Georgetown students and other Georgetown dance groups.
