Music at Georgetown University

Georgetown has a very active performing arts program, and the music program has just begun a period of rapid expansion.  The new music curriculum, staff and ensembles are largely focused music of the Americas.  While we still play and teach most of the usual suspects (Bach, Beethoven and the boys), we offer lots of jazz, popular, film and folk music, technology, performance, twentieth-century music and musical theatre.

The Music Program consists of courses and degree programs, and a wide variety of student-run and professionally-led groups and ensembles operated by the Department of Performing Arts.
