"Collaboration is our defining act: in the classroom, in
performance, and in programming. Together, we create community, performing
integrative engagement-- of the spirit, body, heart and mind."
-- Maya Roth, Artistic Director
More than just the home to Georgetown's Theater Program, the Davis Center is also at the heart of cultural exchange and collaboration across disciplines. Some of this year's events will include a world premiere by Amadou Kone, Sigui, which will be directed by Roger Bensky and feature students working with artists from Europe and Africa; "Children of Abraham," a week of interfaith events through the arts, generously funded by Andrew and Josephine Ammerman; a special production of Translations, by Brian Friel, as part of Nomadic Theatre's 25th Anniversary. Translations will be directed by senior JoJo Ruff, under the mentorship of Professor Derek Goldman; a dance concert by Black Movements Dance Theatre; an international joint conference of the Association of Hispanic Classical Theater and the Association of Women, and a dramatic reading of Enerst Ferlita's Companions, directed by Fr. Paul McCarren in honor of the Jesuit Jubilee.
