Paata Tsikurishvili
Adjunct Professor
A native of the Republic of Georgia, holds an MFA in Film Directing from Tbilisi State University and a BFA in Acting from the Tbilisi Institute of Theater and Film. Before moving to Washington, DC, he created a German theatrical company called Mimodrama Theater that toured their productions throughout Europe. After co-founding and working with the Stanislavsky Theater Studio on such productions as Faust, The Idiot, and Don Quixhote, Mr. Tsikurishvili founded Synetic Theater in 2001 and was awarded the Helen Hayes Best Director award for the company’s inaugural production, Hamlet… The Rest Is Silence. Mr. Tsikurishvili directed and performed in Dracula, The Master and Margarita, The Crackpots, and Host and Guest. As a director only, he created the company’s productions of Salomé, this season's The Dybbuk and last season’s Bohemians and Jason and the Argonauts. Mr. Tsikurishvili teaches movement classes for graduate students at the Catholic University of America.
