C. Paul Heins
C. Paul Heins is adjunct assistant professor of music at Georgetown, where he has taught since 2002. Heins directs the Concert Choir and teaches music theory, voice techniques/literature, and piano. A 1996 graduate (B.Mus.) of Bowling Green State University and a 2000 graduate (M.Mus.) of the University of Maryland at College Park, his principal teachers have been Victoria Harris and Virginia Marks (piano), Judith Bentley and William Montgomery (flute), and Mark S. Kelly (conducting). At Georgetown, Heins has served as music director for productions of The Colored Museum (2004), Assassins (2005), Urinetown (2006), and A New Brain (2007), Wisconsin Death Trip (2008), and Cabaret (2008) and he has served as music advisor for A Winter’s Tale (2006), Eurydice (2006), and Sordid Lives (2006). In addition to his work at GU, Heins has been the music director of the Lesbian & Gay Chorus of Washington since April 2003. He frequently free-lances as a pianist and flutist around the DC area, performing with ensembles which have included the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, the Washington Men’s Camerata, the Heritage Signature Chorale, the Prince George’s Philharmonic, and The Arlington Players. Heins is the former music director of the family service at St. David’s Episcopal Church (2003-2006). |
